Samuel Lochmatter ist ein schweizer Abwehrspieler der Stärke 9. Sein reales Vorbild ist ebenfalls Verteidiger und spielt beim FC Naters (vorher FC Sion).
Nach dem Abstieg seines FC Sion aus der Alpen-Superliga verließ Lochmatter seinen Verein, in dem er groß geworden war und suchte sein Glück in Deutschland. Viele Jahre spielte er daraufhin erfolgreich in Bremen, musste aber aufgrund zahlreicher Verletzungen auch immer wieder Rückschläge wegstecken. Zur Saison 15 zog es ihn ein paar Kilometer nach Süden, zum VfL Osnabrück. Dort blieb er allerdings glücklos und suchte nach nur etwas mehr als einem Jahr das Weite. Mit 31 Jahren wagte Lochmatter dann den Sprung nach Portugal zum dortigen Spitzenklub FC Porto.
Lochmatter ist bislang 4-mal in die Schweizer Nationalmannschaft berufen worden (0 Tore).
