Die First League ist die höchste Spielklasse im schottischen Fußball. Zum ersten mal war die First League in Saison 2 beim BMO vertreten. Nach drei Spielzeiten wurde sie vorerst auf Eis gelegt, doch seit Saison 8 ist die First League fester Bestandteil des BMO.
Aufgrund der aktuellen Position Schottlands in der 3-Jahreswertung der Länder qualifiziert sich der Meister für die BMO-Europa-Liga; die Mannschaften auf den Plätzen 2-5 nehmen am BMO-Europa-Cup teil. Die letzten drei Mannschaften steigen in die Second League ab.
