KAA Gent gehörte von Saison 6 bis zur Saison 18 zum BMO-Universum. Danach versank der Klub für viele Jahre im unterklassigen Bereich und damit im BMO-Nirwana. Seit der Saison 35 nimmt Gent in der 2. Ehrendivision an dem Experiment "Zweitverein" teil, d.h. ein Manager eines anderen Vereins betreut zusätzlich noch einen zweiten Klub. Für Gent wurde dabei Joernie, der langjährige Manager des FC Porto ausgewählt. Für die Saison 39 wurde Corbeau mit dieser Aufgabe betraut, der die Meisterschaft der zweiten Liga holte und somit KAA Gent zum zweiten Mal in der Historie in die erste Liga führte.
