Der Afrika Cup wird alle zwei Jahre während des Saisonübergangs veranstaltet. Unter 32 Nationalmannschaften Afrikas wird dabei der Afrikameister ermittelt. Die jeweiligen Halbfinalisten des Afrika Cups sind für die folgende Weltmeisterschaft qualifiziert.
