Neben Fußball gibt es im Verein die Sektionen Bowling, Leichtathletik, Orientierungslauf, Skisport und Eisschnelllauf. Die Vereinsfarben sind blau-weiß, Spitznamen lauten Blåvitt (Blau-Weiß) und Änglarna (die Engel).
Göteborg ist eine Großstadt in den schwedischen Provinzen Västra Götalands län, deren Residenzstadt sie ist, und Hallands län sowie den historischen Provinzen Västergötland, Bohuslän und Halland.
Göteborg ist mit 573.000 Einwohnern nach Stockholm und vor Malmö die zweitgrößte Stadt Schwedens. Die Universitätsstadt liegt an der Westküste Schwedens beiderseits des Hauptarmes des Flusses Göta älv, der dort in das Kattegat mündet.
