Der OSC Lille (offiziell Olympique Sport Club Lille Métropole, kurz LOSC) ist ein französischer Fußballverein aus der nordfranzösischen Stadt Lille. Sein Spitzname in Frankreich lautet les Dogues („die Doggen“).
Lille ist eine französische Großstadt an der Grenze zu Belgien. Lille ist Präfektur des Départements Nord und Hauptstadt der Region Nord-Pas-de-Calais. Sie trägt den Beinamen „Hauptstadt von Flandern“ und ist mit rd. 228.000 Einwohnern – neben Roubaix, Tourcoing und Villeneuve-d’Ascq – eine Kernstadt des Gemeindeverbundes Lille Métropole Communauté urbaine, der sich aus 85 Gemeinden zusammensetzt und 1,1 Millionen Einwohner zählt.
Als größte Stadt bildet Lille zusammen mit den benachbarten belgischen Städten Mouscron, Kortrijk, Tournai und Menen ein großflächiges Ballungsgebiet und von Januar 2008 an den ersten Europäischen Verbund für territoriale Zusammenarbeit, die Eurométropole Lille-Kortrijk-Tournai, mit insgesamt zwei Millionen Einwohnern. Mit den Städten des ehemaligen Bergbaureviers von Nord-Pas-de-Calais gehört sie außerdem zur 3,5 Millionen Einwohner zählenden Metropolregion Lille.
