Die Fritz-Walter-Medaille wird seit der Saison 75 in Gold, Silber und Bronze an die deutschen Nachwuchsspieler des Jahres verliehen. Maßgebend ist jeweils die Stärke und Form nach der Formauswertung an TAT 8. Mit der Namensgebung der Medaille wird an den berühmten, 2002 verstorbenen Ehrenspielführer der deutschen Nationalmannschaft erinnert, der sowohl sportlich als auch menschlich als Vorbild gilt.
