Shamrock Rovers im echten Leben
Im wirklichen Leben heißt der Club Shamrock Rovers Football Club, die irische Bezeichnung ist Cumann Peile Ruagairí na Seamróige. Er wurde im Jahr 1901 gegründet und ist in der irischen Hauptstadt Dublin beheimatet. Der Club ist sowohl Rekord-Pokalsieger als auch Rekord-Meister in Irland. Die Rovers spielen seit 2009 im Tallaght Stadium, davor war der Club 22 Jahre heimatlos und spielte in wechselnden Stadien, nachdem im Jahr 1987 das ehemalige Staion Glenmalure Park als Bauland verkauft wurde. Anfang des neuen Jahrtausends übernahm sich der Club wegen des neuen Stadions finanziell so stark, das er beinahe aufgelöst wurde. Nur durch eine Faninitiative konnte die Auflösung verhindert werden.
Erfolge
Shamrock Rovers im BMO
Im BMO ist die Geschichte der Shamrock Rovers recht wechselhaft. Seit Beginn der irischen Liga in der Saison 12 waren die Rovers Mitglied in den irischen Ligen. Der Club stieg drei Mal ab (Saison 14, 18 und 20) und ebenso oft wieder auf (Saison 16, 19 und 21), alles unter dem ehemaligen Manager Kuh auf Fahrrad. Der größte Erfolg ist der bisher einzigste Meistertitel in Saison 42 unter Manager Qubert. Ebenfalls einmal konnten man den irischen Pokal gewinnen und zwar in Saison 43.
Nach dem Zusammenschluß mit England und Schottland starteten sie in Saison 46 in der GBI Second League. Unter Manager Bernie gelang in Saison 52 der Wiederaufstieg in die GBI Premier League.
