AZ Alkmaar ist ein Fußballverein aus er niederländischen Stadt Alkmaar. Er gehört somit zum Länderverband Benelux und spielt momentan in der 1. Ehrendivision.
Der Verein wurde in Saison 7 gegründet und spielte damals in der 2. Ehrendivision. Bereits in Saison 7 gelang der Aufstieg und das Erreichen des Pokalfinales des BNL-Cups gegen Ajax Amsterdam im selben Jahr dürfte wohl einer der größten Erfolge der Vereinsgeschichte gewesen sein. In den Folgejahren gelang die Etablierung des Clubs in der oberen Tabellenhälfte der 1. Ehrendivision und schließlich auch die erstmalige Teilnahme am EC. Mit dem Erreichen des Pokalfinales in Saison 14 sowie dem 3. Platz in der Liga, dürfte Saison 14 wohl die erfolgreichste Saison des Clubs gewesen sein.
Seit Saison 7 wird der Verein von To.R. gemanagt.
