Ehrendivision an dem Experiment "Zweitverein" teil, d.h. ein Manager eines anderen Vereins betreut zusätzlich noch einen zweiten Klub. Für Gent wurde dabei Joernie, der langjährige Manager des FC Porto ausgewählt. Für die Saison 39 wurde Corbeau mit dieser Aufgabe betraut, der die Meisterschaft der zweiten Liga holte und somit KAA Gent zum zweiten Mal in der Historie in die erste Liga führte.
