Der Verein
Der FC Midjylland wurde in der Saison 29 in die Skandinavia 2 aufgenommen und ersetzte das Team von Herfölge BK, das in den Jahren zuvor durch zu häufige Wechsel im Management aufgefallen war. Die Aufnahme von Midjylland war das Ergebnis einer beispiellosen Diskussion im SKA-Forum, in dem die skandinavischen Manager - angeregt von Schirge - demokratisch über die Umwandlung des Länderverbunds Skandinavien debattierten. Der Tausch von Herföge gegen Midjylland ist Teil eines größeren Prozesses der Umstrukturierung, in dem u.a. Esbjerg IF in den Ligabetrieb zurückkehrte und der Verband durch weitere Länder ergänzt werden soll.
