Karriere
Nach langer Propagandaarbeit des Managers SC Paderborn 07 stieg SKaup mitte der Saison 12 in das Spielgeschehen ein.
Saison 12
Die ersten zwei Monate verbrachte er dann in Skandinavien beim damaligen Erstligisten Tromsø IL und beendete die Saison auf einen für den Verein durschnittlichen 14. Tabellenplatz.
Saison 13
Obwohl er in seiner ersten Zeitungsausgabe noch ankündigte länger als seine Vorgänger beim Tromsø IL zu arbeiten, entschied er sich dann auf anraten von SC Paderborn 07 ebenfalls in die Alpenliga zu wechseln.

Noch in seiner ersten Saison angagierte er sich für die Zeitung und verfasste sein ersten Artikel auch wenn er sich öffentlich gegen den damals hohen Stellenwert der Zeitung aussprach.

Saisonziel erreicht
Trotz der Turbolenzen mitte der Saison, wo sich die Manager die Klinke in die Hand gaben und Tromsø IL auf den Abstiegsplätzen landete konnte Tromsø sich auf den 14. Platz "retten". SKaup der bei seinem Amtsantritt noch sehr zurückhaltent über das Saisonziel sprach, viel sichtlich ein Stein vom Herzen als der letzte Pfiff für diese Saison viel. Obwohl das Spiel gegen den FC Kopenhagen regelrecht peinlich war zeigte er sich zufrieden und die wenigen angereisten Fans feierten die Mannschaft, den Trainer und ihn.
Auf einer anschliessenden Pressekonferenz sagte er lächelnd auf die Frage wie seine Pläne für die nächste Saison aussehen, "[...]Ich lasse mir jetzt meinen Koffer nachschicken, meine Vorgänger hätten sich so ein wenig Porto sparen können.[...]". Es seien jetzt noch einige umstrukturierungen in der Mannschaft geplant und dann kanns richtig los gehen so SKaup wörtlich.
Zu dem Spiel gegen Djurgarden Stockholm meinte er nur das die Fehler analysiert werden und das er dem Trainer vertraue. Aber offensichtlich hatte die Mannschaft mit der Saison nach dem Spiel gegen den FC Lahti, wo sie noch mal gezeigt haben das sie eigentlich zu unrecht so weit unten in der Tablle stehen, schon abgeschlossen.
