Geschichte des FC Sevilla
Der Klub wurde am 14. Oktober 1905 gegründet und war einer der Gründungsvereine der Primera Division.
Der Sevilla Fútbol Club, zu deutsch FC Sevilla, ist ein Fußballverein aus der südspanischen Stadt Sevilla.
Die Mannschaft der Sevillistas trägt bei Heimspielen weiße und bei Auswärtsspielen rote Trikots. Im 1958 eröffneten Stadion Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán haben etwa 45.000 Besucher Platz. Fans des Sevilla FC werden Sevillistas oder Biris (nach Biri-Biri, einem gambischen Fußballspieler, der in den 1970er-Jahren für Sevilla aktiv war) genannt.
Sevillas Lokalrivale Real Betis ist im Umland Andalusiens beliebter. In der Stadt Sevilla wird klar der FC favorisiert. Ein möglicher Grund dafür: FC Sevilla galt in der Vergangenheit als Klub, der den spanischen Faschisten nahestand, was heutzutage allerdings kein Thema mehr ist. Die Klubführung des FC Sevilla hat sich ebenso verändert wie die politische Lage im Lande. Dennoch scheint dieser dunkle Fleck aus längst vergangenen Tagen einige Sympathien in Spanien und insbesondere auch in der eigenen Stadt gekostet zu haben. Dies dürfte sich durch die jüngsten Erfolge – damit sind primär die UEFA-Pokal-Siege 2006 und 2007 gemeint – etwas geändert haben. Der FC Sevilla gilt zudem eher als Klub der Oberschicht, während Real Betis eher der Arbeiterschaft nahesteht.
