Viel Aufregung gab es nach der Aufdeckung des Talents der ehemaligen "großtalentierten" Spielern als Folge der großen BMO-Reform der Saison 36. Beim portugiesischen Klub CS Maritimo Funchal, geleitet von Marquinho, der auch als Admin tätig war, wurde offenbar, dass 40 von 43 Spielern der Talentstufe 9-12 angehörten. Die statistische Wahrscheinlichkeit wäre etwa 50% gewesen. In der anschließenden Untersuchung stellte sich heraus, dass Marquinho die entscheidenden Transfers, in denen er Spieler der Stärke 8 (damals Talent "groß") abgab und dafür Spieler der Talentstufe 9-12 (damals ebenfalls "groß") kaufte, kurz vor seiner Ernennung zum Admin tätigte. Der Verdacht einer Manipulation konnte somit ausgeräumt werden. Marquinho hatte stattdessen eine ausgefeilte und aufwändige Strategie angewandt, in dem er die Formentwicklung sehr vieler Spieler über längere Zeit analysierte. Obwohl Marquinho seitens der anderen Admins und der FPK rehabilitiert wurde, trat er kurz vor Beginn der Saison als Manager von Maritimo Funchal zurück.
