AZ Alkmaar ist ein Fußballverein aus er niederländischen Stadt Alkmaar. Er gehört zum Länderverband Benelux und spielt seit dem Aufstieg in Saison 7, der Gründungssaison des Vereins, in der Benelux Ehrendivision, der höchsten Spielklasse der Benelux-Staaten.
Der Verein wird seit Saison 7 von To.R. gemanagt.

Geschichte
Saison 7
AZ wird gegründet und verpflichtet einen kompletten Managerneuling, To.R., welcher bis heute noch die Geschicke des Vereins leitet. In der 2. Ehrendivision gelingt dem Team als Tabellenzweiter hinter dem FC Utrecht und vor Union Luxemburg der Aufstieg in die Benelux Ehrendivision. Das Erreichen des Pokalfinales des BNL-Cups gegen Ajax Amsterdam dürfte zu einem der größten Erfolge der Vereingeschichte zählen und Trainer Gilbert Dresch ist ein gefeierter Mann.
Saison 8
In der ersten Saison in der Benelux Ehrendivision erreicht AZnach einem schlechten Start und einer 18-Punke-Serie nach der Winterpause unter Trainer Adri Koster einen sensationellen 9.Platz.
Saison 9
Die Trainer-Ära Jacky Mathijsen beginnt. In seinem ersten Jahr erreicht er den 8.Platz und verbessert sein Team gegenüber dem Vorjahr damit um einen weiteren Platz.
Saison 10
Am Ende der Saison steht zwar nur der 9.Platz für den AZ, doch es scheint so, als wäre man nun endgültig angekommen in der Benelux Ehrendivision.
Saison 11
Mit dem Erreichen des 6.Platzes macht sich Jacky Mathijsen selbst das beste Abschiedsgeschenk, AZ wird das nächste Jahr erstmals im EC spielen. Die neugegründete Amateurabteilung holt unter Lehrmeister Johan Cruyff auf Anhieb die Amateurmeisterschat.
Saison 12
International scheitert man in der ersten Runde des EC gegen den hohen Favoriten AS Rom, doch Neutrainer Ruud Gullit gibt Alkmaar national neuen Auftrieb. Der 3. Rang noch vor Ajax Amsterdam, PSV Eindhoven und Club Brügge ist eine Sensation. Eine Jugendabteilung wird neu gegründet.
Saison 13
Guy Hellers schafft mit AZ zwar international zwei Runden, doch in der Liga scheitert er an den hohen Erwartungen. Platz 6 ist kein schlechtes Ergebnis, aber zu wenig für die hohen Erwartungen der Alkmaarer.
Saison 14
International schafft es Alkmaar mit Neutainer Jos Luhukay im EC bis in die 3.Runde und im BNL-Cup verliert man im Finale nur knapp gegen Club Brügge. Die größte Überraschung ist jedoch das Erreichen des 3.Platzes in der Liga, dabei wäre beinahe sogar noch der 2.Platz, der zur EL-Teilnahme berechtigt hätte, drin gewesen.
Saison 15
Der Nachwuchs ist außer Rand und Band. Während sich die Amateure mit Trainer Johan Cruyff zum zweiten Mal die Amateurmeisterschaft sichern, wird die Jugendabteilung unter Neutrainer Ray Parlour Vizemeister. In den Pokalwettbewerben erreichen die Profis national wie international jeweils die 3.Runde. Enttäuschend ist vor allem das Liga-Ergebnis der Profis, die am Ende nur auf dem 6.Platz landen. Trainer Jos Luhukay muss gehen.
Saison 16
Aron Winter wird neuer Coach bei den Profis, die in der Liga nach einem äußerst holprigen Start am Ende doch noch mit hauchdünnem Vorsprung durch den 4.Platz die Qualifikation für den EC erreichen. Während man international in der ersten Runde am Underdog FC Hibernian scheitert, erreicht man im BNL-Cup immerhin das Halbfinale, wo man ebenfalls gegen einen Underdog(FC Twente Enschede) unterliegt. Die Amateure und die Jugend landet mit jeweils dem 6.Platz im Mittelfeld.
