Die 3. Deutsche Amateurliga ist die dritthöchste Amateurspielklasse deutschen Fußball und ist seit Saison 35 beim BMO vertreten.
Jeder Amateurmannschaft der Liga tritt jeweils zweimal zu Hause und zweimal Auswärts gegen jede andere Amateurmannschaft der Liga an. Die drei Mannschaften mit den meisten Punkten aus allen Spielen steigen in die 2. Deutsche Amateurliga auf. Im Gegenzug steigen die beiden Mannschaften mit den wenigsten gesammelten Punkten ab. Da die 3. Deutsche Amateurliga allerdings schon die unterste Klasse im deutschen Amateurfußball beim BMO darstellt, kann keine Mannschaft absteigen. Bei den letzten beiden Teams kommt es lediglich zu Formabzügen bei den Spielern aufgrund des eigentlichen Abstieges. Die Formabzüge für einen Abstieg sind im BMO-Regelwerk verankert.
Aufsteiger
Aus der 3. Deutschen Amateurliga steigen wie bereits erwähnt die ersten drei Teams auf. Folgende Mannschaften konnten bisher den Aufstieg in die 2. Deutsche Amateurliga feiern:

Absteiger
Die letzten beiden Mannschaften steigen sportlich ab, verlassen die Liga aber nicht. Folgenden Mannschaften sind bisher (sportlich) abgestiegen:
