So kam ich zum BMO

Seit dem 12.08.2005 kurz vor der Saison 11 wurde ich Manager bei BMO. Durch meinen Bruder Spike72, den ich des öfteren über die Schulter geschaut habe, wurde ich auf dieses Spiel aufmerksam.

Meine ersten Schritte

Natürlich wurden sofort Bewerbungen, Italien Frankreich und Spanien waren meine Wunschländer, rausgeschickt. Leider kam keine Einstellung zustande, aber ein guter Ratschlag von mehreren LL. Ich sollte mich doch ersteinmal in Japan anmelden um das Spiel zu lernen. Also bewarb ich mich bei Urawa Red Diamonds in der Japanischen J-League.

Der erste Verein

Ungefähr eine Woche vor Beginn der Saison 11 kam dann die erlösende Nachricht, ich solle mich doch auf einen der zur Verfügung stehenden Vereine für den Managerposten bewerben. Die Auswahl war zwar nicht sehr groß, aber ein Verein ist mir gleich aufgefallen, wegen des ungewöhnlichen Namens. Associação Naval 1º de Maio aus Portugal. Bis zu diesem Zeitpunkt hatte ich noch nie etwas von diesem Verein gehört. Da mir aber der Portugiesische Fußball mit seinen großen Vereinen wie Benfica Lissabon Sporting Lissabon FC Porto und Boavista Porto ein Begriff ist und ich sowieso den Drang verspürte eher in den südlichen Länder meine Arbeit zu machen, ging die Bewerbung gleich raus und eine Stunde später hatte ich den Job.

Geschichte, Jetzt und Morgen

Auf was ich mich eingelassen habe mit diesem Verein, wurde mir erst nach einiger Zeit bewusst. Terceira Divisao war die dritte Portugiesische Liga und was es heißt von dort nach ganz oben zu kommen ist ja allen klar. Konkurrenten waren nämlich die großen Amateurvereine der Erstligamannschaften. So ging auch gleich die erste Saison in die Hose. Platz 13, Ziel verpasst und trotzdem Aufgestiegen. Mein Glück war, das reine Amateurligen gegründet wurden und somit kein Platz für Profimannschaften dort war. So wurde kurzerhand die Liga de Honra um zwei Mannschaften aufgestockt und Associação Naval 1º de Maio und Juventude Évora waren Zweitligisten ohne den nötigen sportlichen Erfolg.

Unerwartet gut konnte man sich dort schlagen. Saison 12 Platz 5 und somit Saisonziel erreicht. Saison 13 wurde dann zum bisher größten Erfolg. Aufstieg in die SuperLiga als Tabellendritter und somit Erstligist. Dann das große jammern. Saison 14, Abstieg.

Des öfteren war die Versuchung groß, Associação Naval 1º de Maio zu verlassen und bei einem anderen Verein anzuheuern. Aber mittlerweile ist mir der Verein so ans Herz gewachsen das nach kurzer Überlegungszeit ein Wechsel verworfen wurde.

Ziel ist es kurzfristig den Verein wieder erstklassig zu machen. Langfristig soll er zu einem guten Mittelfeldplatzverein aufgebaut werden. An eine Spitzentruppe die auch um Titel mitspielen kann, daran denke ich im Moment nicht einmal. Zu groß ist der Stärkeunterschied zu den Spitzenvereinen die ihre Mannschaften schon seit Saison 8 aufbauen konnten.
