Der Stade Rennais Football Club (bretonisch: Stad Roazhon), im deutschen Sprachraum bekannt als Stade Rennes, ist ein französischer Fußballverein aus der bretonischen Hauptstadt Rennes. Gegründet wurde der Klub 1901 als Stade Rennais; nach Fusion mit dem FC Rennes (1904) hieß er Stade Rennais Université Club, seit 1972 wieder Stade Rennais FC. Im Vereinsregister des französischen Fußballverbands erhielt er die Nummer 15, ist also ein „Urgestein“ des bretonischen Fußballs.

Rennes ist die Hauptstadt der französischen Region Bretagne und Präfektursitz des Départements Ille-et-Vilaine. Mit einer Bevölkerung von 216.268 Einwohnern ist Rennes die zehntgrößte Stadt Frankreichs. Die große Studentenzahl (rund 63.000) bestimmt den Alltag der Stadt. Neben der Produktion von Kraftfahrzeugen der Firma PSA – das 1961 eingeweihte Werk befindet sich im Vorort Chartres de Bretagne, unmittelbar neben dem Flughafen Saint-Jacques-de-la-Lande – stellt der Bereich der Telekommunikation den bedeutendsten Wirtschaftszweig der Stadt dar. In Rennes befindet sich die Hauptredaktion von Ouest-France, der auflagenstärksten Zeitung Frankreichs.
