Der Verein
Tromsø IL gehört zu den skandinavischen Vereinen, die wegen häufiger Managerwechsel ihr großes Potential über die Jahre nicht voll ausschöpfen konnten. Zuletzt hatte das Team mit w1s3 den Aufstieg in die Skandinavia 1 geschafft, war durch den Wechsel seines Nachfolgers Wolfsburger dann aber ohne Führung wieder in die zweite Liga abgestiegen. Nachdem Tromsø zunächst ohne Manager in die Saison 28 gestartet war, wurde im Dezember 2010 mit superboer ein aussichtsreicher Neumanager für die sportliche Leitung verpflichtet, mit dem der Aufstieg kurz- bis mittelfristig wieder ein realistisches Ziel geworden ist.
