Die Saison 49 begann am 05.09.2016 und endete am 04.12.2016 mit dem Saisonübergang zu Saison 50. Der erste Liga-TAT wurde am 24.09.2016 ausgespielt.

Neuerungen
Ereignisse
Wegen personeller Engpässe bei den BMO-Programmieren, insbesondere, weil Flinx nicht zur Verfügung stand, verzögerte sich der Saisonstart erheblich. Sykeflo sprang in die Bresche und versuchte, sich in die Programme einzuarbeiten. Ihm gelang dann der Saisonübergang.
Weil wegen des Managerschwunds strukturelle Anpassungen bei den Nationalmannschaftswettbewerben nötig gewesen wären, dafür aber keine Programmierkapazitäten zur Verfügung standen, fiel auch die Weltmeisterschaft Saison 49 aus.
