Das reale Vorbild
Die Nationalmannschaft Faröer Inseln ist das BMO-Pendant zur färöischen Nationalmannschaft, welche mit einem sensationellen 1:0 Erfolg über Österreich 1990 ihr Pflichtspieldebüt feierte. Die Färöer sind neben England, Schottland, Nordirland und Wales der einzige Verband der das historische Recht auf Mitgliedschaft in der UEFA genießt ohne staatliche Souveränität zu besitzen.
Die Faröer Inseln beim BMO
Die Faröer Inseln (richtig müßte es übrigens Färöer bzw. Färöer-Inseln heißen) nehmen seit der Saison 14 am internationalen Wettbewerb teil. Vorangegangen war eine wochenlange Zeitungskampagne Daniels und diverse Überredungsversuche dem damaligen WM-Admin Rothi gegenüber.
Die EM der Saison 16 wird auf den Faröer Inseln stattfinden.

Bislang nahmen die sympathischen Nordatlantikinseln erst an einer Weltmeisterschaft teil, hier schied man leider als Gruppenletzter bereits nach der Vorrunde aus.

Die Faröer Inseln bei Europameisterschaften
Ihr internationales Debüt feierten die Faröer Inseln bei der EM Saison 14. Als schwächstes Team des Turniers erreichte man einen völlig überraschenden Gruppensieg und schaltete Titelverteidiger Österreich im Achtelfinale aus. Erst dem späteren Weltmeister Deutschland mußte man sich geschlagen geben. An mehr Europameisterschaften nahm man bisher nicht teil, wird jedoch die Europameisterschaft Saison 16 ausrichten.
