Jugend beim FC Maia (Saison 22 bis 27)
Entdeckt wurde Luiz Quaresma beim FC Maia, wo er sich bis zum Jugendspieler der Stärke 3 entwickelte. Nach einer Beförderung zu den Profis wurde er dann auf Stärke 4 aufgewertet. Mit seinen 19 Jahren galt er als vielversprechenden Talent und so wurde Alex1980 von Real Madrid auf ihn aufmerksam. Für eine Ablöse von 4,5 Mio € wechselte Quaresma in Saison 27 zu den Königlichen.
Real Madrid (Saison 27 bis 30)
Beinahe schon ganz oben angekommen - viel mehr Prestige als bei Real Madrid geht kaum - musste sich Quaresma zunächst mit einem Platz bei den Amateuren begnügen. Viele Hoffnungen wurden in ihn gesetzt, aber die konnte er in Madrid nicht erfüllen. Als sein Abgang in Saison 30 von der Vereinsseite aus beschlossen wurde, hatte er nicht eine Aufwertungen zu verbuchen und wechselte so als 22-Jähriger 4er für 2,0 Mio € zu Waterford United.
Waterford United (Saison 30 bis 32)
Von den Königlichen zu den Amateuren eines englischen Zweitligisten - was ein Abstieg für das einst hochgelobte Talent. Doch in Waterford gelang ihm das, was ihm in Madrid verwehrt blieb. Gleich in seiner ersten Saison eine Aufwertung und damit ein Platz in der Profiabteilung. Nur eine Saison später die zweite Aufwertung und schon sah man eine große Karriere endlich in Fahrt kommen. In Saison 32 dann der Rückschlag. Patellasehnenriss und damit 4 Wochen Ausfall. In Waterford begannen die Zweifel, ob Quaresma einen solchen Rückschlag verkraften würde. Man hörte sich nach möglichen Interessenten um. Und Manager Marquinho erkannte die Chance, das Talent aus dem Ort, an dem er als Manager begonnen hat, zu sich zu holen. Ein Wechsel zur kommenden Saison wurde vereinbart. 5 Mio € Ablöse sollte Waterford für den mittlerweile 25-Jährigen Spieler erhalten.
CS Marítimo Funchal (seit Saison 33)
Bei CS Marítimo Funchal war Quaresma zunächst als Stammkraft bei den Amateuren gedacht gewesen. Doch zur neuen Saison waren die Inländer im Profikader knapp und so beschloss Marquinho, ihn kurzfristig in den Profikader zu verschieben. Seine Einsätze sollte Quaresma trotzdem vor allem bei den Amateuren erhalten. Nachdem er in Waterford abgeschrieben worden war, blühte Quaresma in Funchal auf. Sensationelle Formgewinne führten dazu, dass Quaresma zur Winterpause aufgewertet wurde. Von Form 114 zu Saisonbeginn hatte sich Quaresma bis zu den Aufwertungen auf Form 150 gesteigert und wurde dafür belohnt.
SC Braga (Saison 34)
Nachdem Quaresma in Saison 33 überwiegend Einsatzzeiten bei den Amateuren von CS Marítimo Funchal hatte, wollte er in Saison 34 in der Primeira Liga spielen. Doch Manager Marquinho konnte ihm dafür keine Zusage geben. Zu gut war der Kader besetzt, als das Quaresma Stammspieler gewesen wäre. Daher einigte man sich darauf, Quaresma zu verleihen. Für 900.000€ ging es für eine Saison zum SC Braga.
