Der Taca de Portugal ist der portugiesische Pokalwettbewerb für Vereine der Primeira Liga und der Liga de Honra. Er ist nach der Portugiesischen Meisterschaft der zweitwichtigste Titel im nationalen Vereinsfußball. Um ein Starterfeld mit 32 Vereinen zu bekommen, durften bis zur Saison 23 auch die vier besten Amateurmannschaften teilnehmen. Der Taca de Portugal wird seit der Saison 8 ausgespielt, als Portugal in das BMO-Universum aufgenommen wurde.
Spielmodus
Gespielt wird im KO-System in fünf Runden: Vorrunde - Achtelfinale - Viertelfinale - Halbfinale - Finale. Der Sieger wird jeweils in einem Spiel ermittelt, das ggf. verlängert wird. Fällt auch in der Verlängerung keine Entscheidung, folgt ein Elfmeterschießen.
Das Finale findet traditionell im Estádio Nacional do Jamor, dem Nationalstadion Portugals, in Oeiras statt.
