Die EM der Saison 22 wurde vom belgischen Fußballverband ausgerichtet. Gespielt wurde in acht Vierergruppen. Jedes Team bekam 6 Tore auf das Torkonto, eine Teilung in Heim- und Auswärtstorkonto gab es nicht. Die jeweils Erst- und Zweitplatzierten zogen ins Achtelfinale ein. Die Erstplatzierten bekamen hierbei 5 Tore auf ihr Torkonto gutgeschrieben, die Zweitplatzierten 4 Tore. Das Überstehen des Viertelfinales brachte erneut eine Gutschrift von 4 Toren auf die Torkonten der verbleibenden Teilnehmer.

Den Zuschlag für diese Europameisterschaft erhielt Belgien.

Das Bewerbungsschreiben

Hiermit bewirbt sich für die EM, das kleine Land Belgien, umgeben von den großen Ländern wir Holland und Frankreich sowie die pussierlichen kleinen Staat Luxemburg. Wir hatten bisher noch nie das Glück solch ein großes Turnier auszutragen, aber sehen uns willens in der Lage, solch eine Meisterschaft zustemmen. Schon jetzt putzen und bauen wir wie die Wilden, um die strengen Auflagen zu erfüllen.

Die belgischen Stadien wirken entgegen denen europäisch üblichen Stadien, eher hausbacken oder auch traditionell – ganz nach dem persönlichen Gusto. Als klassische Fußballstadien mit dichter, enger Atmosphäre sind die Stadien in Lüttich, Brügge und auch Charleroi einzuordnen, wobei letzteres durch seine eigenwillige Gegentribüne etwas aus der Rolle fiel. Zu diesen 3 Austragungsorten kommt noch das König-Baudoin-Stadion in Brüssel hinzu und das neue erbaute Arteveldestadion in Gent hinzu.

Wir glauben in diesen Stadien tolle Partien zu erleben und alles rundum positiv zu organisieren. Zumal es für alle Teams, Fans und Zuschauer kurze Anfahrtswege geben wird, da die Stadien nicht weit aus einer liegen. So wird auch jedes Teilnehmende Land eine saubere, geordnete Unterkunft vorfinden, die zum verweilen und entspannen beitragen wird. Denn die großzügig angelegten Hotels verfügen alle über eine separaten Außenbereich, der vor den Presserummel und aufgebrachten Fans schützen wird. Auch können wir gute Trainingsanlagen in gepflegten Sportschulen anbieten, die sich in unmittelbarer Nähe der Unterkünfte sich befinden. Wo es auch mal für die Spieler möglich ist, selbst nachdem gebolze auf dem Platz, gemütlich grillen, chillen und ein trinken kann. Mit diesen schlagkräftigen Argumente hoffen wir, Sie liebes Gremium, von unseren Land aus Austragungsort der EM der Saison 22 zu überzeugen.
