Die Alpen-Bundesliga ist die zweithöchste Liga des BMO-Länderverbunds Alpenliga.

Modus
Die Anzahl der Mannschaften in der Alpen-Bundesliga hat in der Vergangenheit stark gewechselt. Zunächst spielten nur 10 Teams in der Liga, später waren es bis zu 20. Derzeit besteht die Alpen-Bundesliga aus 12 Vereinen. Bei dieser Ligagröße spielt jeder Klub viermal gegeneinander (zwei Heim- und zwei Auswärtsspiele).
Zunächst stiegen die vier Bestplatzierten in die Alpen-Superliga auf. Seit der Saison 14 sind es nur noch die drei Bestplatzierten. Ob die Absteiger tatsächlich aus dem Ligabetrieb genommen werden, entscheidet jeweils der Ligaleiter.
