Die WM der Saison 23 wurde gemeinsam in der Elfenbeinküste (CI) und in Ghana (GH) ausgerichtet. Gespielt wurde in acht Vierergruppen. Jedes Team bekam 6 Tore auf das Torkonto, eine Teilung in Heim- und Auswärtstorkonto gab es nicht. Die jeweils Erst- und Zweitplatzierten zogen ins Achtelfinale ein. Die Erstplatzierten bekamen hierbei 5 Tore auf ihr Torkonto gutgeschrieben, die Zweitplatzierten 4 Tore. Das Überstehen des Viertelfinales brachte erneut eine Gutschrift von 4 Toren auf die Torkonten der verbleibenden Teilnehmer.

Gastgeber und Austragungsorte
Die erfolgreiche Bewerbung der Elfenbeinküste und von Ghana wurde von T-jay und Lex gefertigt.
Das Bewerbungsschreiben
Sehr geehrter BMO-Weltverband,
hiermit bewirbt sich der ghanaische Fussballverband und Fédération Ivoirienne de Football (FIF) im Namen des afrikanischen Fussballverbands, um die Austragung der kommenden Weltmeisterschaft.
Afrika, der wunderschöne Kontinent, war noch nie Ausrichter einer Weltmeisterschaft und würde gerne eine Chance bekommen, der ganzen Welt den Kontinent, und speziell die Elfenbeinküste und Ghana, vorzustellen. Des Weiteren ist Fussball, in beiden Nationen der meist betriebene Sport und somit ein wichtiger Bestandteil für eine positive Ausrichtung.
Für die Austragung stehen acht beeindruckendende Spielstätten zur Verfügung. In jedem dieser Stadien würden die Gruppenspiele einer Gruppe stattfinden:
Baba-Yara-Stadion, Kumasi, Ghana - Ohene-Djan-Stadion, Accra, Ghana - Sekondi-Takoradi-Stadion, Sekondi-Takoradi,Ghana - Tamale-Stadion, Tamale, Ghana - Felix Houphouet- Boigny Stadion in Abidjan, Elfenbeinküste - Stade Robert Champroux in Marcory, Elfenbeinküste - Stade Municipal in Bouna, Elfenbeinküte - Municipal de Abidjan Stadion, Elfenbeinküste. Dieses Stadion ist das zweite Stadion der früheren Hauptstadt Abidjan und umfasst insgesamt 9.000 Plätze.
In jedem dieser Stadien findet auch ein Achtelfinale statt.
Die Viertelfinalspiele werden in Ghana im Sekondi-Takoradi-Stadion und im Tamale-Stadion ausgetragen, in der Elfenbeinküste im Stade Municipal in Bouna, sowie im Municipal de Abidjan Stadion.
Die Halbfinalspiele im Ohene-Djan-Stadion in Ghana und im Stade Robert Champroux in der Elfenbeinküste versprechen ebenfalls große Fussballfeste zu werden.
Spiel um Platz 3: Das Spiel um Platz 3 findet in der Elfenbeinküste im Felix Houphouet- Boigny Stadion“ in Abidjan statt.
Das grosse Finale im Baba-Yara-Stadion in Ghana soll der Höhepunkt des afrikanischen Fußballfestes werden.
Der afrikanische Verband, vertreten durch die Fédération Ivoirienne de Football und dem ghanaischen Verband würde sich über eine positive Antwort freuen.

Die Austragungsorte
- Kumasi (GH), Baba-Yara-Stadion: Das Stadion des Vereins Asante Kotoko fasst 51.500 Zuschauer, darunter sind 40.500 Sitzplätze
- Accra (GH), Ohene-Djan-Stadion: Das Stadion der Vereine Great Olympics und Hearts of Oak fasst 40.000 Zuschauer.
- Sekondi-Takoradi (GH), Sekondi-Takoradi-Stadion: Das ganz neue Stadion des Vereins FC Hasaacas Sekondi ist gerade erst eröffnet worden und fasst 20.000 Zuschauer.
- Tamale (GH), Tamale-Stadion: Das Stadion der Real Tamale United ist ebenfalls gerade erst gebaut worden 21.017 Zuschauer.
- Abidjan (CI), Felix-Houphouet-Boigny-Stadion: Dieses Stadion hat eine Kapazität von 50.000 Plätzen. Es wäre das zweitgrösste Stadion bei dieser Austragung, wodurch auch das Eröffnungsspiel hier stattfinden würde
- Marcory (CI), Stade Robert Champroux: Ins Stadion Robert Champroux passen insgesamt 20.000 Zuschauer hinein.
- Bouna (CI), Stade Municipal: Das Stadion fasst insgesamt 10.000 Zuschauer.
- Abidjan (CI), Municipal de Abidjan Stadion: Dieses Stadion ist das zweite Stadion der früheren Hauptstadt Abidjan und umfasst insgesamt 9.000 Plätze.
